The 5 Newport Avenue Express is a rapid transit service in the A Division of the Potato City Subway. Its route logo, or "bullet," is colored green since it is a part of the ART Newport Avenue Line in Potatoburg.
The 5 operates at all times. From approximately 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., the 5 operates between Fitzgerald Avenue in Krypton and Edenwald–Redport Avenue in Westpotat, making all stops along the ART MacBeth Avenue Line in Krypton, express stops along the ART Newport Avenue Line in Cadland, Potatoburg, and Westpotat, and all stops along the ART Cypress Avenue Line in Westpotat. During late night hours from approximately 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., the 5 only operates between Fitzgerald Avenue in Krypton and 28th Street in Potatoburg.
Automated announcements onboard modern 5 trains are voiced by Hamza Ridouane.
